Office of the COO
The Office of the COO, led by Patrick O’Hara, is responsible for the management of $700 million of the University’s non-TRIP assets, including the pension plans. We are responsible for developing investment strategies, manager selection and performance review for the defined benefit plan assets.
Our 7-person team oversees the security of the University’s investment assets as well as technology initiatives, performance calculation and reporting. We also manage the audit activities for the University’s investments. Additionally, the COO and Manager of Investment Operations coordinate with the Risk team to co-lead the Risk Management Committee.
We take a fiduciary approach when partnering with each investment team in order to execute investment decisions, prepare valuations, and monitor the cash and liquidity positions of TRIP. This solutions-oriented method has led to the development of state-of-the-art tools, key processes, and a sound internal infrastructure, which provides a solid base for risk management and controls.
