Patrick O'Hara, CFA

Assistant Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and
Managing Director, Pensions

Patrick O'Hara was appointed as the Investment Office's Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, Pensions in December 2012. Pat is responsible for the management of $1.2 billion of the University’s assets not eligible for investment in TRIP, including the University’s defined benefit plans. Leading a 9-person team, he oversees the Investment Operations team and Investment Office’s technology initiatives. Pat is co-chair of the risk management committee.

Pat joined the University in 2000 as the portfolio manager for the private equity portfolio. In 2005, he was promoted to the team’s director and named managing director in 2009. Prior to joining the University, Pat held analyst positions at ABN-AMRO Asset Management, LaSalle National Trust, and The Northern Trust Company.

Patrick holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and a BA in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a CFA Charterholder.
