Experience
My experience so far at the Office of Investments has been amazing. I have learned a lot about institutional investing from the incredibly smart and supportive people in the office, as well as from the many projects tasked throughout the summer. I have been able to work on projects such as the audit variance analysis, fee calculation, and my personal favorite, Tableau visualization for daily data reports.
I went into every task with a clear understanding of how my part on that project contributed to the larger functions of the office, which made working here that much more interesting and informative. Another one of my favorite parts of the internship was the weekly lunches with the different asset teams. These meetings explained the workings of the endowment fund and how that all connects to specific aspects of the College, daily things that students experience. That relevancy was something I enjoyed learning. Overall, interning here has been a wonderful opportunity.
Advice to Future Interns
My advice would be to read and ask good questions on material that anyone in the Office sends you. Those articles and reports are helpful for knowing what people in the office are doing and why. Also, do not be afraid to ask for more projects or tasks as everyone in the Office is really encouraging!
