Lawrence Lau is an Investment Analyst on the Risk team at the University of Chicago’s Office of Investments. He specializes in risk reporting and analysis and collaborates closely with the investment teams to help understand and improve the performance of TRIP.

Lawrence spent over two decades as a talent buyer in the music industry and as an operations manager for several venues in the city of Chicago. Lawrence learned to manage his own finances, gaining experience in both trading equities and derivatives. This background provides him with a nuanced understanding of risk and reward, which he applies to the complex landscape of financial markets and macroeconomics.

Lawrence earned a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
